Scottish Ballet collaborated with Scottish Album of the Year award-winner Kathryn Joseph to create this music video for her song 'The Bird' and launch the Scottish Ballet Creative Scheme.
I chose to film on Irvine Beach, on the west coast of Scotland, taking my visual cues from the rugged landscape at sunset. Scottish Ballet dancer and choreographer Sophie Laplane devised and performed a series of flowing movements that capture the fragility and melancholy of Kathryn Joseph’s song.
The Bird was selected to be shown as part of the 'New Shorts: Music & Video' strand at the London Short Film Festival.
